The ERA Metro New York Chapter held its first charity golf outing on June 20th at St. George’s Golf and Country Club in East Setauket, N.Y. The event brought together close to 100 attendees, including reps, principals, distributors, CMs and local OEMs to help raise money for Long Island Cares – Veterans Services. The event also offered an opportunity to attract additional prospective rep and distributor members, as well as to provide a venue for meaningful industry interchange.
After a brief continental breakfast, all golfers enjoyed a challenging scramble format round of 18 holes. Golfing prizes were presented during a cocktail hour reception followed by a buffet dinner. Additional fundraising including a 50/50, raffles and a blind auction helped to make ERA Metro New York’s first annual event a success.
ERA CEO Walter Tobin, along with local board and golf committee members helped kick off this first-time event before breakfast, after which Tobin demonstrated his expertise on the greens. Tobin comments on the event: “It was a great day for all — perfect weather and great camaraderie. The Metro New York Chapter of ERA represents ‘Best in Class’ for local chapter involvement and integration of fun into business.”
Following the event, members of the board and golf committee presented a sizable check to Long Island Cares. The check will go to pay for meals for veterans and their families.
